Amy Wolter

Amy is a sophomore at Duke University pursuing a major in Neuroscience with minors in Chemistry and Religious Studies. In the Bohórquez laboratory, she has worked alongside Dr. Naama Reicher to elucidate how the gut senses sickness and medicinal compounds. She is currently working with Begüm Emregül to discover how mice change amino acid preference in acute and chronic protein deprivation. Amy intends to pursue medical school after her undergraduate degree and aims to connect her scientific curiosity with improved translational outcomes for patients. Outside of school and research, she enjoys the outdoors, triathlons, and time with her dog, Loki.
