Kelly Buchanan

HHMI Medical Fellow

Kelly is a senior medical student at Duke University School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. As a second year HHMI Medical Fellow in The Bohórquez Laboratory, Kelly is studying how gut-brain circuits taste calories using optogenetics, behavioral phenotyping, and in vivo electrophysiology. She aspires to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine with hopes of becoming a physician scientist.
