Laila Khan-Farooqi
Laila is an undergraduate at Duke University studying Cell and Molecular Biology and Classical Civilization. In the Bohórquez Laboratory, Laila is working alongside MD/PhD student Emily Alway to use molecular biology techniques and behavioral phenotyping to analyze the coexpression of sugar sensors in the gut and how they drive nutrient preference in mice. Laila aims to pursue medical school, and her ambition is to one day become a practicing physician.
